About Royal Derby Hospital
The Royal Derby Hospital was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh on 1 April, 2010, on the site of the former Derby City General Hospital following a £334 million transformation into the newest hospital in the East Midlands.
The Royal Derby has 1,159 beds and provides state of the art care to around one million patients from Derby and the surrounding areas every year.
With 35 operating theatres, four linear accelerators for treating cancer patients, two MRI scanners and a Da Vinci surgical robot, The Royal Derby provides the highest standards of care in a modern environment, ensuring the best possible care for you at all times.
